My First Website 101

Where did this 101 business come from? Who came up with this 101 at the end of a subject anyway. Why not My First Website 1 or 100? I never understood that. Had not thing to do with the topic, just thought that I would put it out there.

So your finally looking to take the plunge online and start yourself a website. So many things to consider. So many cross-roads. Where to start? What to do? Hopefully this article will help guide you and answer some of those questions for you. It’s intended to give you some basic information to consider when starting a website.

Introduction
The world of the internet is this huge, vast compilation of information. If you think about what it truly is. That’s it. Some info is free, some you have to pay, but none-the-less, it’s information. You want to put your spot on the information superhighway? What’s the first thing to do to get started. Do I need super computers, memory, Microsoft Office, and hire a suite full of geeks to work for me? Let’s find out!

First up to bat. . . .
What’s the very first thing to consider to get your spot on the information superhighway? That’s simple. What is your site going to be about? Are you going to offer free information based on your expertise to surfers. Are you planning to sell items? A mix of both? So many choices, but it’s the very first thing to get a webpage started. You have to ask yourself. What do I want to do with my website? What am I doing it for? Your answer to that question will have you completed with the first step. My opinion on what to start. Try to be different. Focus on fulfilling a need and run with it. What do you know best than anyone else? What are you most passionate about? That is what I would start my website on.

Next. . . .
Alright, I made my decision on what I want to focus on, now what? Next you will need to figure out how you want to set the website up. Do you know HTML well enough to build your site manually? Or will you use a HTML editor like Site build-it, to help you build your page? There are many tools that you can use to help you build your site. I am going to remain as unbiased as possible. Go to any search engine and type in the key-phrase, “html editor.” You will get tons of results back with free and paid tools that you can use. If you are on a tight budget like I was when I started my first website, I suggest grab a free tool. You can also check out downloads.com and find a great tool for free.

After that. . . .
What are you going to call this site? You will have to find a good domain name. Word of caution. This is probably going to be the most challenging thing you do to get your webpage started. I can guarantee that the simple name you are thinking about right now, is already taken. You will have to be unique here in order to find a good name that hasn’t already been taken. If you can, try to use a name that will also be a main keyword that you use in your search engine optimization (will be discussed later). Example of what I mean is if you decided to base your website about fixing a American car. One of the keywords that you will probably focus on is “fixing American cars.” So see if you can register the domain name, fixingamericancars.com. No big deal if you cannot. Most important you want to pick a domain name that is easy for someone to remember.

Then. . . .
Then you have to decide on where to host the website. You can accomplish this by paying or again free. The only problem with free services is that it is usually a sub-domain of the main one. It usually looks like this: http://www.freehost.com/freehost/host/yourwebsite.html. And they have many rules on what you can and cannot do. On top of the rules, most of them you have to have a small advertisement at the top or bottom of your page. I would suggest you pay for hosting. You saved on the tools, by getting them for free. You can find hosting for as low as $6.00 a month. Let’s just assume for a moment that you are trying to make a professional stake in this game. Would you rather have a webpage with a domain that look like this www.freehost.com/freehost/host/fixingamericancars.html or a domain that look like this ww.fixingamericancars.com. What looks better to you? What will your surfers most likely remember? Answer the questions and go with what you decide.

And Finally. . . .
How are you going to promote the site? What avenues will you use. Will you even promote it at all. My guess is, if you went through all the trouble to start up a website, you want someone to see it, so how will you accomplish this task? You have to consider what and the cost around doing it. Will you do email advertising? Use web directories, search engines, link exchanges, traffic trades, web-rings, paid text links, pay-per-click advertising, etc. There are so many ways to promote your website. But how will you? The answer to that question could depend upon the budget you have to work with. Each medium produces different types of promotion, some targeted, other’s not. Some works better than others. As I mentioned earlier, about search engines, you should have this as apart of the plan. Why? For one, it’s free. Two, it’s the best kind of promotion you can have. Someone searches for something specific and they find you. It’s like looking in the Yellow Pages for a mechanic to fix your car. (to use the same example as before about fixing American cars) The chances of this person buying or using your service is high.

Conclusion.
Starting your first website can be fun and exciting. There are many tools available to you that can make it simple. If your budget is tight, use as many free tools as possible. When it comes to hosting your site, I would rather go paid so I can have a better, easy to remember domain for my website. As always, the choice is yours. Whatever fits your needs and budget is what you should do. Once you have it all together, up and running, it'll be time to promote to let the world know that your site is out there. That's the point, right? You did not build a great site for just you. You were hoping others would see. The key to success here is the more people you can get to get to see your site, the more successful of a site it will be. Just some food for thought.

The Don’ts of Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

The topic for discussion today is about what not to do when it comes to search engine optimization (SEO). I was going to name this article The Do’s & Don’ts of SEO, but I figure at this point you know what to do. I’ve dedicated many articles that are focused on what to ‘DO’. Just check my articles “SEO Basic’s for the Dummy” or “Dominate the Search Engines” or “The Art of Keywords” to understand what to do. Or just read this article and ‘DO’ the opposite of what ‘not’ to do.

The things that I will talk about in this article are about what is called in SEO “black hat” SEO. What’s been talked in previous articles are what we call “white hat” To learn more on “white hat” strategies, refer to any of the articles above. From this point on, it’ll be about “black hat” strategies.

Black Hat
What’s this mysterious “black hat” SEO strategies? Is it the latest fashion trend? No it’s not a fashion trend at all. Should I do it? Does it work with the SE’s or is it just a waste of time? The answer to these questions depend upon who you are talking to. Many employ these strategies and continue to do so today.

My answer to these questions is yes they do work. However, in my opinion, Black Hat strategies are quick fixes with short term gains. I see it as continuing to work hard and not necessarily smart. I am lazy, so I want to do something once and let it go from there. Black Hat strategies do not allow this. Your site may get the rankings quick, but soon your site will be at the back of the line. (or out of the line completely). Black Hat involves spamming and the SE’s do not like this. They will find your site, penalize or ban it completely from the index. Then your off again starting a whole new site employing the same strategies. White Hat strategies start off really slow. And I mean ssllllooooowwww.. But eventually get momentum and out last the rest. The reason it is so slow is your at the mercy of the search engines. Ever heard of the infamous Google Sandbox? Well experts say it could take any new site 6-12 months to get out of it! You kidding me? I have to wait a year to see results in Google? Who has that kind of time? You? Definitely not me. I’m lazy but not that lazy. I have bills to pay today, not next year. This is why many webmasters go with black hat instead of white hat.
Even with this flaw, white hat will pay off big in the long hall. It will flow continuous money into your mailbox while others are jumping around trying to get new sites started to keep their black hat strategies going.

What Not To Do?
Ok, ok, you have me convinced. I do not want to go with the black hat strategies. But what would be considered black hat? How can I avoid it? Just hold on a second. I’m getting there. Didn’t I tell you I was lazy. The rest of the article is focused on the things not to do. By the time I am done, you will know what not to do to your website to not get it banned. There are 2 ways of spamming. On-page and off-page. Sounds familiar? Same factors to help you rank well are the same that can get you penalized or banned. Let’s start with our own backyard. Your thinking…Yea, yea I know “As momma always told you.” Yep. See your getting it!

On-page

Keyword Stuffing
First up to bat, keyword stuffing. What is that, you may ask. Almost sounds like some food. Making me hungry just thinking about it. I’ll take some chicken with a side of chicken stuffing, mash potatoes and keyword stuffing please.
Anyway, in my opinion, there are 2 forms of keyword stuffing. I call them keyword list stuffing and keyword body stuffing. They will not get your site banned, but it won’t rank you well either. Let’s get into the first one, keyword list stuffing.

Keyword List
This involves adding every word known to your niche in the meta keywords. You see a website with meta keywords and it is stuffed full with 1000 or so keywords. Look like they got the dictionary and started writing. Seriously. As funny as it sounds, there are websites out there that do this. People, that is not going to get you ranked. It will not get you banned, but definitely will not get your ranked on the first million pages!! Some SE’s do not even read the list to begin with. Keep it short. No need to add the A-F section of the dictionary to your keyword list.

Keyword Body
This is the process of taking your keyword list (Probably too big to begin with) and repeating it all over the page. It makes no sense to the user, just a bunch of words all over the place. I haven’t seen this much, and I hope I do not. It will not help you in anyway.

Also, while we are on the subject, over using the keywords is a no, no. Some websites will take their main keyword and repeat over and over and over. You’ll see it in the Title, meta description, everywhere. This strategy will get you banned or penalized. Again, it’s an attempt to appear more relevant than the website really is. I have seen this tactic work, but not for long. If your ranked well, and you put in your main keyword and you suddenly see a site up that has no business being there. Check back again in a few days and you’ll see that site gone.

The Invisible KeyWord
Sounds like a Super Hero. When there is trouble with ranking your website, call “The Invisible KeyWord” No, please do not! He is a enemy, not a hero. This is involves taking your keywords, putting them in the body of your website and make the color of the font the same color as the background of the website. It’s invisible to you or I, but visible to SE’s. It’s a process of spam to make the website appear more relevant because it has the keywords in the body. SE’s have caught onto this tactic and you will be penalized or banned for this. I have seen this tactic done. But I have the visible ink. One way to tell, is when you visit a website and you see a big blank space at the bottom or somewhere towards the bottom, take your mouse, point and try to highlight the space. When it highlights, it will reveal the words!!

Formatting Keywords
This is when you bold, italicize, or underline every keyword on the website. There is no need to emphasize every word. Now you know those words are not that important in every sentence. Come on now! Just once is fine. Twice at the most. This tactic could end up backfiring. The SE’s will give less importance to the words.

Excessive Link Pages
This is having too many links on one page. Normally, it’s 100 or more that’s a problem. Experts have difference numbers that they believe will hurt. I believe 100 is most agreed upon that will hurt your SE rankings. A rule of thumb I try to do is stay with around 15-25 links on one page. Anything more than that can create clutter on your website. It will make it difficult for your surfers. Besides that, it does not help the websites you are linking to. If a surfer cannot find their site because it’s buried on a page with over 100 links, do not expect any traffic.

Missing Title
I just had to put this in there. This won’t get you penalized or banned, but since this article is about what not to do, I had to talk about this. This is so common among websites. You would be surprised at how many websites do not have a Title at all. Makes you want to put a ad up on the back of a milk carton. “Has anyone seen this Title”? or a Wanted sign in the Post office Wanted “Website Title” $1000 reward if found.

This is so big. This is one of the top reasons why websites do not rank period. Just this one change alone could move a website from the 100millionth page to the millionth page. What is your site about? Why should I click on it?

Off-page

I really shouldn’t call this off-page. Technically it’s really not, but I wanted to make a clear difference here. The difference between on-page and off-page is on-page is the way you set your site up. Off-page involves more of the linking side. You cannot really help who links to you and SE’s know this. That’s why I am not talking about that kind of off-page. You’ll see more of what I mean as you read along.

Link Farms
Link Farms? What is this? Is this where links are raised before sent out to the internet? Not quite. Link farms are a bunch of webmasters getting together to setup 1000’s of sites and pointing the links towards each other. There are a few ways of accomplishing this. When you do your link campaign, stick with hard reciprocal linking. Many are not aware, but there are link director sites like PowerLinks or Linkvault that brag about helping your build links fast. These are essentially link farms. Avoid them like the plague. How do you know? The red flag is usually when you have to add some kind of script to your website in order to do a link exchange. Don’t do it. Again, short term success, but short term gains.

Banned / Penalized Sites
Again, you cannot control who links to you, but you have full control over who you link to. Avoid linking to other penalized or banned sites. This can eventually affect you. Why? Remember, a link pointing to a site is a vote. So your voting for this banned or penalized site that the SE’s have stated is bad news. If your voting for them, then that must mean your site is also bad news. Ever heard of the saying, “Birds of a feather, flock together?” I have. It’s another one of the sayings that didn’t make sense to me until later on in life.

How do I know if I am linking to someone that is banned? The easiest way to do this is by checking the pagerank of the site you are linking to. You can download the Google Toolbar to do this. If you see a grey bar for the pagerank. It’s been banned. Now, do not confuse a 0 PR with a penalized site. Having a PR of 0 does not mean the site has been penalized. It’ll be grey’d out if it is penalized.

That’s all for now folks. I’m sure there will be other tactic’s that will arise as SE’s catch them. Malicious webmasters will continue to look for quick, easy ways to beat the SE’s. The SE’s will catch it, update their alogorithms and the cycle will continue. It’s a endless cycle as to why I say “white hat” eventually will out last the “black hat” and flow continuous surfers to your site producing tons of money. White hat strategies will hold up through all the changes to the SE’s. The choice is always yours. Whatever works for you. Good luck and happy optimizing.

The Art of Keywords

This topic is so important that I am writing this entire arcticle for the subject. This is a easy to understand, basic concept around keywords. Well, I have to be honest. I've mislead you. It's not keywords. The art of keywods is actually to use key phrases.

What do you mean, key phrases? Let's say that you have a website about computers. So what is your keyword? Obviously computers, right? Here's a small exercise for you to do. Go to Google. Once there, type in the word computers. Ok, from the results, do you see how many websites were returned with the word computers? 448,000,000!!!! Ouch. What are the chances of you getting the the first page. Forget the first page, what are the chances of you making the millionth page? See my point?

Alright, now put in the key phrase, "my super computers." See the results. 40,000,000. Ahhhh. Now I ask the same previous question. What are the chances of you getting to the first page. What about the 2nd or 3rd? Much better chances. See when you use key phrases versus keywords, you better your odds of winning in the search engines. Why battle against all that competition?

Doesn't mean you do not have to, but I recommend that you mix it up. I would go after some main key phrases and maybe one or two target keywords. I gurantee that you will hit the top 10 (if done correctly) for your key phrases faster than the keywords.

Here are some tools that can help you better target your key phrases to know how the competition is. I've used these personally and they work well. Some are free services, others you have to pay. The best one that I prefer is Nichebot, but I will list the others for you to choose which will work best for you.

1. Wordtracker - Pay service
2. Overture - Free
3. Nichebot - Free

Use the tools to check the competitiveness of the keyword you want to target. Try to focus on ones that are searched a decent amount of time with the least competition as possible. Don't worry if your keyword doesn't have a extreme amount of searches. A number 10 position with a somewhat competitive keyword can generate a few hundred hits a day on one of the Top 3 search engines.

Once you have your target keywords (phrases), spread them throughout your website. These are the keywords that you will use to top of the SE's. Insert them in a user readable Title andMeta Description. Bold and italicize them once or twice in the body. Fully optimize your site for those target keywords. Don't forget to use them in your anchor text for backlinks. Not sure what I am talking about? Read my other article on seo "SEO Basic's for the Dummy" to learn more around search engine optimization.

Want more on keywords and seo optimization, you can download a free ebook at Online Shopping Digital Products & Ebooks website. Just click on the Free SEO book on the top right. It's available for download with no strings or obligations.

Dominate the Rankings on the Search Engines

Hello everyone. Enjoy your Haloween? Hope so. Time to get ready for Turkey day, then Christmas. Goodness where has the year gone. Today's topic is going to cover a favorite subject of mine, search engines. I am naming this one How to Dominate the Rankings.

Must be asking, what and the hell makes you an expert on dominating the rankings? What's your credentials. Your right, I have none and I'm no expert. I'm not sure how to dominate anything but my monkey. It's a joke people, just jokes.
What I do know is some of my sites are at the top of the rankings and new websites I am working on are rising everyday.

Don't believe me? Alright, take a look over here with me and look at some results. I always say results speak louder than words. Go to www.yahoo.com. When you get there, type in this keyword, adult entertainment porn club What do you see? Onla Adult Entertainment is number #1. Out of 16 million websites. Oh wait, you got lucky your thinking. That's just one keyword. Ok. . type in entertainment porn club. . . number #2. porn club online. . . .number 5
You want more.. . naah, I think you had enough, ok maybe one more. . .adult entertainment porn . . .number 12. Wait, that's page 2. Yea I know, do not like it either, but out of 22 million other websites, it's not too bad. I still get a fair amount of visitors. Where's your site ranked?

Let's take a look at www.msn.com. Maybe I'm just a Yahoo specialist, right. Type in all the same keywords. Let's see what we get.
Adult entertainment porn club - number 1
entertainment porn club - number 1
porn club online - number 1

No way. Must be a fluke. Let's try the last one adult entertainment porn. Well whadaya know, number 1.

Ok Ok, enough already. I think you get the point. I may not be an expert, but I have somewhat of an understanding of how to rank on the 1st or 2nd page. Sooooo. Do I have your attention now. Goood!

How do you get your site to the top of the rankings for your keywords. No one really knows the true answer as the search engine world is very complicated. However there are things that you can do to take your website from a site that only you (and maybe some friends) know about to thousands of people knowing.

There are 2 factors that you want to consider in your search engine optimization. They are called.

On-page optimization
Off-page optimization.

Just from the wording you can probably take a good guess at what they are. So I'm not going to go into it. You take it from here. Good luck.. . .

Nah, I'm kidding. Let's talk about On-page.
On-page optimization is factors that you change on your page. Off-page is factors on other people's websites. What's more important you may ask? Both are important, but off-page is more important than on-page. Back in the hay day of the internet, on-page ruled. But due to spammers and cheats, on-page became less important but still holds some revelance. So make sure you get it right.

Today's post is going to focus on on-page for right now. Like my momma always told me, "make sure your backyard is clean before you worry about someone else's" I never understood that when I was young. But it sounded good. I do now though.
Anyway, back to the subject. What are factors that you can change on-page to help your rankings. Several. Let's talk about a few here.

I think one of the most important ones to change is your Title. Really!! Yes really. You should come up with a good clean title to your website. Not just any Title. The Title of all titles. Your title should be readable to users, such as you and me, but contain YOUR keywords that you want to focus on. Let's look at this in more detail.

The Onla Adult Entertainment Site's title is Adult Entertainment Sex Site XXX Adult Entertainment Porn Club Online. Remember above our keywords that we are ranking high with.
To name a few
1. adult entertainment porn club
2. porn club online
3. entertainment porn

Ooooohhhh. Is it making sense now! Notice anything between the keywords we have and the Title of the page?

Alright now on to the next factor meta description and meta keywords.
Thing to note: With Google, meta keywords mean nothing. It does not consider it. But most of the others do, so it's good to have in there just in case. I try to optimize my sites for all the SE's, not just one.
Word of caution here. Do not go crazy with the keyword. You do not need to put every instance of the keyword or keyphrase in your meta. For instance if your keyphrase is going to be baby momma. You do not need to stuff it with baby momma daddy uncle sister cousin best friend mom. Just put a few key pharses, around 15-20 is a good number to target.

Your meta description should touch on your keywords as well. After that, next you want to do is make sure your keywords or phrases appear in your content of your page. Bold or underline one or two just to add importance to it. A side trick that some seo experts say to do is add h1 and h2 tags. Some even go as far as adding h3 or h4 tags. These are called header tags. You add them into your code. Myself personally, I only go up to h2.

If your website is full of pictures and banners, search engines cannot see them. Change the alt text of the banner or picture. The alt text is the text that is viewed if a user puts his/her mouse over it. It appears in a little box. Search engines can see that. Put some of your keywords in there. Again, do not spam. I trick I do to not appear to spam is put the keyphrase or keyword and end it with banner or image or picture. For example, keyword baby momma and I have a picture on the site. I would put the alt text for picture to be baby momma picture 1.

There are more things to do in which we can speak on it later. What I can tell you is to put your keyword in the search and find the website that is ranking number #1 and copy what they do. Their number #1 for a reason right? So duplicate the format and you should get similiar results.

Let's talk about a few things not to do. These will get you banned or penalized.

1. Do not make the keywords or phrases the same color as the background. So to the user, they never see, but the Search engines will. They do not like it and it's consider spammed. If your site does not have the content to fit the keywords and you cannot get creative enough to mix it in so it flows, change up your keywords. Focus on some that you can make flow. But do not do that trick. It's an old trick and SE's are smarter than that. They will know that it's being done and ban you. If your site is doing this now, this is probably why your not ranking well.

2. Keyword spam. This is just repeating the same keyword over and over and over again in your title, meta description and through your page. Again another no no. This will get your site banned from the SE. They see this as spam.

In summary, as I always state in my post, focus on your content. Overall that is the best advice. Set your page up right and focus on the content and the rest should fall in place. With most SE's, when your webpage optimized, it's a waiting game. A little known fact is most websites, probably in the high 80 percentile are not optimized at all to rank well. Your well optimized website will stand out to SE's and move up. Just stay focused on your content.
Change up your content regularly, say once every 2-3 weeks, monthly at the worse. This is a good thing as the SE's will see your site as important and keep checking back due to the updated content.

We will get into Off-page on another post. I think it needs to be talked about separately. Right now I will let you guys run so you can get working on optimizing your websites.

Feel free to share your seo tactics with everyone. Happy optimizing.

How to Get Indexed Quickly in Google

Getting indexed in Google does not work the way you may think. I touched on this subject briefly in my last post when I talked about the Google Pagerank. Now I want to get a little more deep into it. Help you get your sites indexed. Let me first start off by giving you a short quiz. Let's see how much know and if you are already ahead of others.

What's the best and fastest way to get your site indexed by Google?
a. Go to the Google Submit page at www.google.com and submit your site.
b. After you finished building your site, leave it alone so the Googlebot will pick it up automatically on its own as it prowls around the web.
c. Call or email Google and let them know your site is ready to be indexed.
d. Link your website to another high PR site.

What's the answer? Which do you think will get your site indexed. . . .Is it a? b? How about c or d? They all sound like possibilities. Well let's walk through the ones that won't work to get to the answer that will.

c. Call or email Google and let them know your site is ready to be indexed.
This is a good one. I do not know Google's number to call them. If you do, let me know. On second thought, you keep it. I do not need it. As you've figured out by my sarcasm, c is not the answer. No way has any webmaster called or emailed Google and got their site indexed. I do not believe they have such a number or email address. Your better off using their submit page. Oops, did I give away the answer. Read on. . .

Ok ok ok. C was not my real answer anyway. I know what it is. It's a. I've done a. Alright, let's explore this answer.

a. Go to the Google Submit page and submit your site.
Not!!!! Wait a minute! Your telling me that the google submit page does not work? Hold on, I've used it. It's there, it exist! Yea I know it exist. It's located here Submit Page. However the question was how to get your site listed quickly? Yes you can submit your site using the submit page, but it won't get indexed quickly. The submit page is not the way unless you have months or years to wait. But if your like me. (impatient) Then submitting to the Google submit page is not the way to get your site indexed quickly. Let's put it this way, I have several sites and am working on building more. I have not yet submitted one site to the Google submit page, except for one. That was my first website when I did not know any better. The point is all of my sites are indexed in Google. Many of which were indexed in Google within 2-3 days!!! You read that right, 2-3 days. Do not believe me, try a yourself. Click the submit page above and submit it to Google. Post to me when your site gets indexed.

Well what about b. Let's explore b.
b. After you finished building your site, leave it alone so the Googlebot will pick it up automatically.
This is more of a myth than the rainbow with the pot of gold at the end. Not going to happen. How is the Googlebot to know your site exist in the first place to get to it? Wait, you thought the Googlebot was a imaginary robot I just made up to throw you off. Otherwise b would have been your answer, right. Well I did and it worked. But even if I did not do it, b would still have been the wrong answer. In all seriousness, the Googlebot is a robot or spider that surfs the web looking for websites to include in the Google Index. It roams the web all day everyday. Building the site is just the beginning. Once it's build it has to be promoted. To just build and leave a site alone, not sure why anyone would do it.

We've talked c or a not being the answer. b is not it. That leaves the answer has to be d. That's right. d is it. But why d, you ask. Here's why. I mentioned it a little already.

The Googlebot. On websites that have a decent PR, the Googlebot frequents those websites. To Google, these are important websites, so it checks back. It finds other websites through these. It will follow the links on the website to other websites and so on. If your site is linked to one of these sites your will be spotted by the Googlebot. Keep in mind that this does not mean that your site will get indexed. There is a high chance it will, but your site still needs to be setup with good content and follow basic seo practices. Also note that the Googlebot may not pick up all of your pages at once. It may only crawl so deep and then move on. It'll be back, so just continue to focus on the content of your site.

How will you know if the robot has visited your page. Check your stats. You do have those? Please say you do. How else will you be able to know how your site is performing. If you have detailed stats, it will show what robots have visited your page.

Robot has visited your page, but your still not indexed yet. Give it a little time. The Googlebot sends the request and it takes a little bit for it to actually show up in the index. If it does not appear, then the Googlebot may determined that your site was not useful to be included in the index. Again, I cannot stress it enough, focus on your content. If you still have your link to the decent PR site, the bot will be back to visit. Each time it visits, it crawls deeper and deeper into your site. You may get indexed on the 4th or 5th visit.

If you do this tactic effectively, your site will be indexed in Google within 2-3 days! Versus 6 month to a year or never with the submit page! Feel free to share your experiences with others. I am a constant student and love to learn from you.

As always, I hope this info helps.

Good day!

Hello Everyone....Part 1

Hello everyone. How's everything? I hope you have been finding the articles useful. I plan to continue posting more. Also if you want to talk about something specific feel free to let me know. I do not know everything about everything, but have some knowledge about some things.

Wow, it's been a some time since I spoke to you all. Time really flies by when your having fun. Well there are some reasons behind this.

1. I have been updating the main Onla Adult Entertainment Site. Check it out . . .Adult Entertainment Sex site

We have made improvements to the site to make it easier for you, the surfer to navigate the site. Some improvement include:

  • Separating the left hand navigation menu into 'boxed' sections.
  • Adding the content in the middle into boxed sections.
  • Removing bolded headings from sub categories.
  • Addition of more value added products
  • Use of multiple colors and highlights

Overall, the changes make it much better to find the products and services that you want. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. I love to hear from you. It's what makes the site what it is today.

So what to talk to you guys about today??? hmm.... I know. How about the behind the scene changes that you won't get to see and why.

Does everyone know that Google runs their pagerank updater this month? If not, they are. So get your sites updated. This is the reason behind the "behind the scene" changes I spoke about. Google runs this about every 3 months and this month is the time again for it. What's the page rank updater, your thinking? Well, Google has a number that it imposes on all websites. It is supposed to be sort of a ranking system. It's called the page rank. It ranges from 0 - 10. Pagerank is really over-rated. And in NO means will it affect your search rankings in Google. So what's the point, right? Very good question.

Since so many people put so much emphasis on the pagerank of a site, its possible to make money because of a pagerank that your site may have. How? Many people pay high pagerank sites money to place their link on their site. Yeah, that's right, pay money! Why? Several reasons, but one of the main reasons is that a site linked to a high page rank site helps that site get indexed within Google. I am going to speak more on this later. I am calling it "How to get indexed in Google quickly"

Already own a high pagerank site? Want to learn more on selling link space, check out Text Link Brokers. I use them. They are very good. These guys take out the stress in setting up selling links. Without them, you would have to alert people that you have space for rent, find them, collect payment, and manage every aspect of it. With these guys, they do everything. All you have to do is accept the link placement request, post the link, and your done. You split the profit 50/50. Well worth it, if you ask me. The time it saves alone is worth it. I let the professionals handle it so I can spend more time doing more important tasks like optimizing my sites for the SE's or updating my content for you.

You may be asking yourself, how do I find out what's the PR for my site. A few ways to accomplish this. One is to download the Google toolbar. Install it and the their is a button on it you click to let you know. Do not want to install anything? Use websites such as Pagerank.net Pagerank Checker or WebsiteHostDirectory Page Rank Tool

So how do I know that pagerank has nothing to do with how you rank. Let's look at some sites to prove it. XXXSuperlinks is a PR 5. While Adult Entertainment Sex Site is a PR 4. Superlinks is obviously higher, but when you go to any SE and look up the keywords for superlinks; Superlinks is no where to be found yet. While Onla is on the first page, even ranking number 1 in many SE's. Our new Cheap Online Drug Store is a PR 0. We just started this so it will take a little time before the PR increases for this site. I'm thinking by the next update it should be at least a 2 or 3.

How do you go about increasing your PR? Well no one can really truly answer. I do not know the alogorithm used, but one of the ways that should help is by exchanging links with higher PR sites. You can do that now by reading my previous post on Link Exchanges. Some people added their own submit pages. Missed it? Go check it out in the archive. You can start exchanging now with the 3 sites above that I mentioned. Two have high PR so it'll help you. Aww, no need to thank me. I would do it to help your site. Here are the submit pages to those sites

Adult Entertainment Sex Submit Page - PR4

Free Porn Sites and Sex Pics Submit Page, - PR5

Cheap Online Drug Store Online Discount Pharmacies Submit Page - PR0

Another possibility of increasing PR is the age of the links. Reason I say no one really knows is because I built Onla and did not do any link exchanges the first 2-3 years. I only had outbound links to my partner sites. And somehow it ended up a PR4. My opinion overall, is just focus on the content of your site. Focus on the visitors (customers) you are aiming for. Follow basic seo practices and I think everything will fall into place with the PR.

That's all for today folks. I hope this info helps you. Do not worry. I will go into more detail on some of this stuff. Just check back often for new posts. Feel free to post your experiences or knowledge about the Google Pagerank. I'm sure everyone would love to hear about it, including myself

Good day!
